Pank Stank’s protagonists live, by choice or by custom, in the countryside, and carry on professions like beekeeper, truffle hunter, tobacconist, or farmer, among others.
This works as a mapping of a small territory, hidden in the woods of the Apennines. It almost creates its own small ecosystem, as many other similar realities spread around the villages and rural areas of central Italy do. Using a mixture of portraits, spaces where the main characters live and work, and the landscapes that contextualize the place, the project connects dots that show how living outside the cities is not only possible, but more sustainable and interlaced with the lands and its people.
It’s been challenging and beautiful in equal parts to live in the Apennines.
